Who’s hiring in July?

Good news from the labour market: In the three months to April, there was a small increase in the number of employed people and a small fall in the number of unemployed people. In addition to that, more companies are hiring: There were 516,000 job vacancies for March to May 2013, up 19,000 from December 2012 to February 2013 and up 48,000 on a year earlier.

According to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, employers across the UK are looking to take on staff in the third quarter of 2013, demonstrating that the jobs market shows no major sign of a let up. While engineers and other skilled workers are clearly in demand, there are also other career opportunities out there. Try, for example, one of the following companies:

Home Retail Group is the UK’s leading home and general merchandise retailer with sales of almost £6billion in the past financial year. It sells products under two distinctive and complementary brands, Argos and Homebase, which combine to serve some 200million customers every year. Home Retail Group employs approximately 53,000 people.
Available positions: There are openings at Argos and Homebase in buying/merchandising, operations, supply chain or one of the many other departments.

Telefonica is a leading provider of mobile and broadband services to consumers and businesses in the UK. People may be familiar with O2 as their UK service provider. The company is the leader in non-voice services, including text, media messaging, games, music and video, as well as data connections via GPRS, HSDPA, 3G and WLAN.
Available positions: The company is hiring agency store leaders and retail advisors in O2 stores across the UK.

Nigel Frank International is the global leader in Microsoft Dynamics recruitment with offices in New York, Newcastle, London and Singapore. HC-One is one of the largest independent care home operators in the UK, providing a range of care services, encompassing dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care. The company cares for over 10,000 residents and employs over 14,000 members of staff.
